Google’s Doppl

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is making its way into every single person's life. From school to video games, AI creates an immersive online experience for everyone, and Google is hopping right on that trend. Recently, Google announced their new experimental app, Doppl, which uses AI to show how different outfits could look on you. Keep reading to learn more about this exciting beta app!
This new app is designed to let users try on any look and explore their style, helping them pick outfits daily. To use the app, there are three simple steps: firstly, to set up the app, you must either upload a full body photo or select an AI model. Next, you can browse outfits from your camera roll. If you see an outfit you like on social media, a blog, or from a friend, you can upload an image or screenshot to turn that inspiration into your next look. Finally, you can see your looks in motion by adding video animation to bring your look to life. In the app, they have additional features like saving and sharing, allowing you to share your looks with friends and family online.
Google Labs has also released a list of disclaimers and the current features supported by the app. Currently, virtual try-on supports tops, bottoms, and dresses, with additional categories to be added soon. Shoes, lingerie, bathing suits, and accessories aren’t available yet, and costumes or certain traditional, religious, and cultural garments might not show up accurately. Sheer clothing and outfits that go against Generative AI guidelines also aren’t supported. If an outfit is incomplete, for example, if the image only includes a shirt, Doppl might automatically fill in the rest with items like pants, shoes, or accessories to create a full look. In cases where an item can’t be processed at all, the output might default to a simple black t-shirt and pants.
The app is available for download on the App Store or Google Play, and is intended for users 18 years or older, specifically in the United States. Additionally, the developers have set a limit on the number of generations per month for app users. The reason they did this is to help keep the app running smoothly and prevent the AI from being overloaded with requests. What makes this experimental artificial intelligence app so special is that it allows you to try on outfits on your own body and animate them! This allows for endless creativity and easier outfit creations.
Doppl is a fun and easy way to see how outfits might look on you using AI. It’s still new, but it already makes trying on clothes and picking outfits more creative and exciting!!
